안녕하세요, 서강대학교 한국어교육원 교학부장 김성희입니다.
이번 여름에 본원에서 계획하고 있는 한국어 프로그램에 대한 소개를 해 드리고자 메일을 드립니다.
서강대학교 한국어교육원은 1990년에 개원하여 올해로 20주년을 맞고 있으며 말하기 중심 교육과정으로 알려져 있습니다.
1992년에 의사소통 교수법을 적용한 한국어 교육을 시작하였고 그간 축적한 교육 경험을 바탕으로 2000년부터 한국어교재 시리즈를 출간해 왔으며 2006년부터 대한민국 문화부 국립국어원, 교육부, 복지부의 한국어교육 관련 국고보조사업을 수행하였고 외교부, 교육부에서 초청하는 정부 장학생들의 한국어 교육을 담당하고 있습니다.
서강대학교 한국어교육원의 특징은 의사소통 과제 중심 교육, 언어 문화 통합 교육, 학습자 중심 교육이며 매 학기 75개국에서 온 600여명의 학생들이 서강대학교 한국어교육원의 특징적인 교수법으로 한국어와 한국 문화를 학습하고 있습니다.
서강대학교 한국어교육원에서는 이번 여름 방학 동안 한국에서 살아 있는 한국어와 한국 문화를 배우고 싶어하는 외국인 및 교포 대학생을 대상으로 한국어 이멀젼 프로그램을 운영하고자 열심히 준비하고 있습니다.
선생님께서 가르치고 계시는 학생들 가운데 한국에서의 경험을 통해서 한국어와 한국 문화를 이해하고 학습하길 원하는 학생이 있으면 저희 프로그램을 알려 주십사 부탁드립니다.
교육 기간: 6월21일-7월30일
중간 방학: 6월28일-7월2일
수업 시수: 6시간x5일x5주=150시간 (6학점 과정)
선택 사항: 3일 지방여행 (7월2-4일, 신청 시 300달러 추가 부담 요)
교육 대상: 고등학교 졸업자, 대학생, 성인 * 초중등학교 학생은 교육 대상에 포함되지 않음.

Korean Language Immersion Program offered by K.L.E.C., Sogang University
Program dates: June 21-July 30 Total 150 hours (6 hours a day, Monday ~ Friday, 5 week program and 1 week vacation)
Contents: daily life, making friends, solving problems, travel, cultural differences, and current social issues.
Activities: in-class communication activities, multimedia-based classes, field trips, real-life practice.
Main features:
1. An interactive classroom environment
2. A language-culture integrated course
3. Task-based classes
4. Field trip and cultural experience classes two times a week
5. Excellent teachers schooled in up-to-date methodology of language teaching
6. Benefits for students include:
l A writing clinic for small groups.
l Special class activities including Korean music, art, cooking, dance, or sports.
l A language exchange program for additional practice
l Buddy system to help students to get acclimated to campus life.
Cost: Application fee US $70 Tuition fee US$ 1,800 (with a professor's recommendation $1,400)
Who can apply: Anyone holding high school degree
Options
Dormitory: US$ 550 (2 meals everyday)
Trip : US$ 300 (July 2 ~ 4, trip to another province)
